by admin on Mar.25, 2009, under Maintenance Logs

DATE/TIME WINDOW:
—————————-
Wednesday, March 25th 2009 09:00 PM – 02:00 AM PT Thursday, March 26th 2009

PER-CUSTOMER IMPACT:
—————————-
No downtime expected.

AFFECTED RESOURCES:
—————————-
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.03
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.04

If you are receiving this notification you are part of the affected service group.

MAINTENANCE ACTION:
—————————-
Engineers will be performing a network-related maintenance action during the specified date/time window. Customers should prepare for a disruption of web, FTP, email, and other associated services. While we require the entire maintenance window for preparation and execution, we do not anticipate any service disruptions to occur. There is however a chance of a brief period of latency. Any email inbound during this time will be delivered as normal.

We are making some changes to the underlying networking configuration that relates to these two clusters. This is in order to help improve performance and enhance service consistency.

Scheduled Maintenance (03-18-2009, 11:00PM-03:00AM PT 03-19-2009)

by admin on Mar.17, 2009, under Maintenance Logs

We would like to notify you and the Contacts on your account of an upcoming network maintenance that will affect one of your hosting related services.

DATE/TIME WINDOW:
—————————-
Wednesday, March 18th 2009 11:00 PM – 03:00 AM PT Thursday, March 19th 2009

PER-CUSTOMER IMPACT:
—————————-
No downtime anticipated.

AFFECTED RESOURCES:
—————————-
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.03
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.04

MAINTENANCE ACTION:
—————————-
Engineers will be performing network-related maintenance during the specified date/time window. Customers should prepare for a disruption of web, FTP, email, and other associated services. While we require the entire maintenance window for preparation and execution, our execution plan indicates that there will be no customer-facing downtime. Under a worst-case scenario there may be less than 15 minutes of unavailability, although this is unlikely.

We are planning to upgrade the firmware on a network switch related to (gs) Clusters 03 and 04. This is a pro-active upgrade to correct an issue we have been tracking that has been causing intermittent load spikes on various resources related to these two Clusters.

We would like to remind all of our customers that maintenance and security related updates are a necessary and vital aspect of web hosting that ensures the long term uptime and reliability of your server. Scheduled Maintenance Notice – IDS Upgrade

by admin on Mar.16, 2009, under Maintenance Logs

DATE/TIME WINDOW:
—————————-
Tuesday, March 24th 2009 09:00 PM – 02:00 AM PT Wednesday, March 25th 2009

PER-CUSTOMER IMPACT:
—————————-
Less than 45 minutes

AFFECTED RESOURCES:
—————————-
Colo 2 of EL-IDC3 (El Segundo) Data Center. This includes:
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.03
- (gs) Grid-Service Cluster.04
- A portion of (dv) Dedicated-Virtual Host Servers
- All (dpv) Nitro Servers located in El-IDC3

MAINTENANCE ACTION:
—————————-
Engineers will be installing new networking components during the specified date/time window. Customers should prepare for a disruption of web, FTP, email, and other associated services. While we require the entire maintenance window for preparation and execution, a smaller portion of time (less than 45 minutes) will result in actual service unavailability. Any email inbound during this time will be queued remotely and delivered after the maintenance is completed.

We are upgrading to the latest generation of IDS protection hardware, expanding our network capacity by 8x and packet handling ability by approximately 20x.

This maintenance is part 1 of a comprehensive network security and capacity uplift project planned for all parts of the (mt) Media Temple network. Our VA-IDC4 Data Center is already using this new equipment. Colo 1 of El-IDC3 is planned to be upgraded in the coming weeks, as well.
